CRESAPARTNERS K2 JAY CUP - EVENT UPDATE: Putnam and Henkelman win SL

Nakiska, AB (March 7, 2010) - The CresaPartners K2 Jay Cup wrapped up today with a final slalom event to determine who would hold the overall series championship titles.

Megan Henkelman (KASC-NASA) took top spot in the ladies event, while Jenna McIntyre (LKLSE) finished second and Hilary Shirra (SUNSH) third.

It was a Banff Alpine Ski Racers sweep in the men's category, with the first three positions going to Jeffrey Putnam, Devon Hawkins, and Mike Gillespie respectively.

"The Jay Cup was an excellent event as usual," said Alberta Alpine's High Performance Director, Jim Davis. "I was especially impressed with the quality of skiing out there, considering these young ski racers were on the same water injected course that our national team was using to prepare for the Olympics. I would also like to thank the Calgary Alpine Racing Club and all the hardworking volunteers that made this weekend such a success."

Following Sunday's competition the CresaPartners K2 Race Series overall series winners were recognized.
