Notification of Special Meeting May 26, 2012 to Approve Bylaw Change
On Saturday May 26, 2012 at 1000 hours at Snow Valley, Edmonton AB, a Special Meeting of Alberta Alpine Ski Association will be held. The business of this meeting is to propose a change of bylaw to our membership for approval. The Special Resolution is stated below. Votes will be apportioned per our bylaws for all clubs in good standing.
Revision to Bylaw 2.2 - A message from the Staff and Board of Alberta Alpine
This proposed bylaw change constitutes part of the implementation of our strategic vision and goals. We want to strengthen the foundation of ski racing in Alberta by creating a bylaw that promotes strong clubs that are well equipped to deliver high calibre programs and events, and to ensure the programs delivered are in alignment with our long
term athletic development strategy. We believe this bylaw change will promote heightened operating efficiency and programming at the club level. From time to time, unusual or special circumstances, such as a shift in a club's demographics, will arise, requiring special consideration. Therefore, the associated policy 2.9 was designed to provide
clubs a clearly defined appeal process to ensure they will be heard.
